Bareboat charter co. Massachusetts, New Hampshire?

Hi!

I've been sailing around Boston Harbor for a while with Boston Harbor Sailing Club. BHSC and Mark are great, and I've had a lot of fun with them - definitely the best deal on the water up here and I can't say enough good things about them. However, I'd like to take a week-long bareboat charter up to Maine with my parents, and while BHSC offers this I'd like to compare some boat options to see what works best for my Dad. He's retiring this year and we'd like to sail something close to what he might be interested in getting. I've searched CF (and Google) extensively. There is not a lot on Cruiser's Forum yet about New England chartering, and Yacht World Charters doesn't have a ton of depth either. Anyone have some suggestions? Thanks for your help!

May be too far south for you but Dream Yacht Charters has opened a base in Newport.

If not a member already, join the MassBaySailors Yahoo group and post your question there. There are several options, particularly if you're willing to include Cape Cod as a departure point.

Another thing to consider is contacting a local broker. It isn't unusual for private parties to place their boats in charter for a few weeks per season to offset ownership costs.

No affiliation or experience with them, but here's an example:

New England Bareboat Sailing Yachts

2 days left at the boat show too. There may be some brokers there that you could speak with in person.

Good luck

Thanks for all your help! I'll definitely look into the options you suggested, and, of course, post back for future sailors looking for a boat this far north
