We’ve done the
Bahamas,
Leeward Islands from
Antigua and the
Windward Islands.
Our favorite (did it four times) was the Leewards. You can just sail around
Antigua which is beautiful with many
anchorages and beeches. Pick the
boat up in historic
English Harbour.
Sail to
Nevis which is open ocean for about 45 miles. Your
kids and you will think they’ve come upon Jurassic Park, volcano and all (inactive). It is considered to be representative of the old
Caribbean. Climb up the volcano if you like and tour many retired sugar plantations. Great snorkeling.
Eight miles to St. Kitts. Go to the Monkey Bar and hang out with lots of monkeys.
We then typically sail up to St. Barts which is all French. Great restaurants and great places to sail about and snorkel. We usually sail to I’ll Fourche (spelling may not be correct), a deserted island.
Then onto
St Martin where we drop the
boat off at
Oyster Pond. We always do a one way
charter. Fly home.
I live in
Long Island, NY and would be happy to expand on our adventures.
