Bahamas Immigration extension: new charges

For those who spend as much time in The Bahamas as they can, be advised that things are changing:

https://www.immigration.gov.bs/entry...nsion-of-stay/

--$200 fee for application, extension not guaranteed

--According to discussions at Addison Chan's Facebook page, it appears that despite the only two appointment options (Freeport and Nassau) that you can renew in the usual places. According to the discussion, there are only two of the immigration offices which require appointments bc they are the busiest. The rest are walk-in. However, the FB is informal discussion and may not be true. The situation is evolving, apparently...

This is all I know, so if you are interested in discussing further, suggest you patronize Addison Chan's BAHAMAS LAND AND SEA Facebook page/posts.

Re: Bahamas Immigration extension: new charges

Mr Chester Cooper, minister for tourism etc is revising the new extension to only apply to those seeking work permits. Mr Cooper explicitly states that the extension fee does not apply to tourists, homeowners, cruisers' permits. See ZNS video here
