Jack Tyler (Whoosh) should have some good advice:
Whoosh

Departing fropm the North Caribbean, many cruisers cross (west to east) to the EU via the Azores. This voyage is roughly 4,000 miles of mostly upwind sailing, with your main concerns being weather interpretation and routing.

1st leg - Antigua/St Maarten to the Azores
Your initial routing takes you up along the west side of the Atlantic High, as far north as roughly 30N, where you then start making easting to at least within 600 miles of the Azores, at which point you strike north-east.
The leg takes between 15 and 17 days, is approximately 2600Nm and predominantly beam reaching conditions. Keep well south of the heavy weather systems to the north, and the route is usually dominated by the high pressure centre,.
Stop in Horta, the Azores, to restock on fresh food and visit the island.
