Wintering in Croatia

I am planning to layup my boat up on the hard for the winter in Croatia. I welcome any recommendations on which marina I should consider...my ideal choice would have friendly staff, high security, web cam monitoring, and of course competitive rates for the 7-8 months I plan to leave it. I am willing to sacrifice the web cam monitoring for cost savings and maybe even the friendly staff

Hi

We have left our boat at Marina Veruda (Marina Veruda | Charter | Pula | Croatia )
near Pula in Croatia for the past 2 years. She is on the hard and there is great secutity and the staff are helpful.

Good luck

Peter and Jacquie,

Thanks for this recommendation. It looks like a great place to lay up for the winter.

Re: Wintering in Croatia

wow that is REALLY funny. that is the same marina i was about to recommend.

no joke.

the marina is really well set up. the bus can get you into the city on the cheap really fast. and in the winter it is deserted. all the tourists are gone. a lot of tourist shops are closed but the town its self is just amazing. pula Croatia has the best preserved roman Colosseum bad spelling i think. its were gladiators fought. and veruda is amazing to just walk around its a spit of land shaped like a clover that you can walk around the whole thing in around an hour. best pizza place in my eyes is just up the road from the marina. the staff are great.

there is a scuba shop really close to the marina in fact you pass it to get to the protected marina. the marina has a grocery store and all that but a small town is just around the corner for small family run bakery's and stores. its an amazing place. i liveed there for 5 months and visit friends every year there. i might be a little late in responding but even to just visit for a week or 4 its just calming.

good luck
