Winter storage in Sweden or Denmark?

Hi Everyone:

I am starting to do some planning for my next season, which will have me ending up in Kalmar Sweden in mid to late August. My family and I will be returning to Canada in early September. I am looking for ideas for places to store First Tracks over next winter.

She is 44' and displaces around 19 tons. My strong preference is to lift her out of the water. I understand a lot of boats in northern Europe are stored indoors - is this a possibility for a boat my size?

I will likely be away from the boat until I return in spring 2018, so close access to an airport is only a secondary consideration to cost and security. At this point I don't expect I'll be needing a lot of work done over next winter, so I shouldn't need a full service boatyard.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

cheers,

Deryk

Contact that Danish guy that does the Sail life vlog. I can remember he's paying peanuts for his boat on the hard in Denmark.

Re: Winter storage in Sweden or Denmark?

My wife is Danish, I spent three years in Copenhagen part time.

Brøndby Havn was a popular spot 15 years ago that seemed like a working harbour for sailors looking to fix or build.

1+ on the Sail Life guy from Denmark. https://www.youtube.com/user/madsdahlke/featured

I love that part of the world. Best of luck.
