Planning to find apartments in Europe during our Med tour - We're an american family (two small kids 9/5) and will finish in Greece/ Turkey in October. Can anyone give us some specific names / prices of marinas where where we can safely haul for the winter? Thanks much!

You could consider the Setur Marina in Kusadasi (http://www.seturmarinas.com/kusadasi_eng.aspx) if you want to leave your boat in the water (you can also lift out on the hard but you must have a 12-month marina contract) or Marmaris Yacht Marine (Marmaris Yacht Marina Official Website // Everything about the yachts, marinas & marmaris) if you just want to leave your boat on the hard. An alternative if you want to stay in Greece is Leros, where there are two marinas/yards (see entry at Leros - a Cruising Guide on the World Cruising and Sailing Wiki on the World Cruising Wiki). However, Leros is less simple for getting home from, whereas there are airports within 30-45 minutes by taxi of both Kusadasi and Marmaris.

You could try any of three yards at PREVEZA in the Ionian - google for details - one yard is called Cleopatra - They have modern haulout facilities, resonable costs.

The AGMAR Marine in Leros is located next the airport. They are very professional (good chandler and excellent yard repair team. And the prices are very competitive!
