Yasmine Marina was where I checked into as well. British and American passports were stamped barely without a second glance for three months. Mine they oohed and aahed over and called another four people to examine, and two hours later I had a two week visa pasted into it complete with a
photo LOL.
They must have had problems with Aussie mail order brides too

That was six years ago though. I think their regs have changed.
PS Have you visited the winery yet? Second day in an Islamic country and I went winery hunting LOL. Maybe that's why they they were cautious about letting Aussies stay too long
