Where to haul out in SW Turkey?

Hello Group,
We're thinking of hauling out and storing the boat in SW Turkey for the winter months (Dec. through March).
Any ideas of costs?
We're in Greece and exploring the idea of parking the boat in Turkey if it makes sense.
Thanks

To places that are not too expensive spring to mind.

Yat Lift near Bodrum. This is a Lift out yard - no marina. Very good technical services of all sorts. Website here
Yat Lift

Yat Marine Marmaris - a large marina a little way out from Marmaris. Good services of all type. One word of warning though if hauling out (its cheaper to winter in the water) You have to state your launch date when hauling out as boats are organised to go back according to date. It will cost you dearly if your launch early or late. Stick to the rules and you will find them very good.

Website Marmaris Yacht Marina
They also answer requests for quotes very quickly.

Good luck

Re: Where to haul out in SW Turkey?

Unfortunately we are fully booked for this winter but I can give you some insight on other alternatives;
-if the cost is yr primary concern, Yatmarin will probably the least expensive option. You can get all kind of technical service but not always the best + it's a bit far from the center if this does matter for you.
-D Marin Turgutreis (Bodrum) is another option but they will be quite expensive.
-Göçek and Netsel (Marmaris) are even more expensive and have limited spaces for hard standing.
-Kas and Finike can quote better prices but they are quite far from the airport and basically no technical service at all.

All in all, if you just need a basic works on the boat or no work, you may want to stay in Greece; it will be much cheaper than anywhere in Turkey. PM me if you have any other specific question.

Cheers

Now to show you what we think of Forum members I walked up to the office in the rain to see if they can haul a cat and they can up to 24' beam.

So take hard look at Kusadasi - get marina and a really great town. and I am prejudice

Yeloya
In Kas and Finike there two boatyards under single management that can do any work you wish.
I did antifouling, grp, stainless steel and engine/genset service there.

Yeloya
I have been VERY satisfied with both mechanical and woodwork and glasswork in Yacht Marine Marmaris.

Re: Where to haul out in SW Turkey?

I'm presently in Yat Marina in Marmaris and it appears that all they do is take boats of all sizes out of the water now. It's a good place 25 minutes from the town of Marmaris by bus. Word of caution the marina is jam packed and rumor has it that when it's time to launch they may delay your launch due to shortage of breathing space.
On the way down here I stopped at a marina called Didim marina half way between Kushadasi and Turgotrize. It's a new marina (D marine) with huge storage area and offer all the technical services. It's worth checking out.

May the good winds always be with you

We used Marti Marina and they were reasonable on costs for our cat and have excellent restaurants plus a regular bus service into Marmaris. Its also very secure and very pretty.

Re: Where to haul out in SW Turkey?

Which is the best marina is a endless debate as everyone has different needs/priorities and the attributes like the "cost", "level of service", "good restaurant","being close to the airport or center" are all relative..

As a matter of fact, one marina which is very good for someone may not be acceptable at all for some other.
That's why I stop making comments on marinas in Turkey.
If anyone needs help or specific info, they can PM me..

Cheers

Re: Where to haul out in SW Turkey?

I know that this is a little late, but can recommend Agmar Marine in Partheni on Leros if you were considering Greece. We hauled out to do some work there in late September and they were fantastic. Way cheaper than Marmaris Yat Marine (where we are wintering). Our usual haulout here has been EUR700, whereas Agmar were 462 with free water and electric. Partheni is right beside the airport in Leros but it is a fairly quiet airport.

Cheers, PT
