We are in Turkey. Sailing around Kas, Finike, Kemer.
The area is quiet and the coup passed over us without noticeable effects (some cars honking on the streets after Erdogan regained power).
The general sentiment is that the government has full
power, but people are expecting an extensive purge of the opposition to Erdogan.
On the other hand, very few tourists and very few foreign and
charter yachts (which allows easy
anchoring in the usually crowded bays).
Restaurants half empty, stores deserted etc. but this is the outcome of Turkey relationships with
Russia,
Germany &
Israel that were the main sources of tourism. The unsuccessful coup will not help in this matter...
