All that's required to succeed at State is the correct name, the correct school and the ability to stand in line ...ha ha ha my former brother in law would argue that it takes brains too, I look at him and beg to differ..

I would make contention with your main premise. To get along at the State Department you don't need to stand in line you need to bend over while standing in line. After all you have to learn how to be screwed before you go around screwing up the rest of the world.

I second that on birth control. Maybe we can get a law passed to eliminate the reproductive capabilities on new borne, maybe one out of 20 can keep their stuff!!! Who is going to decide?

That worked great in Iraq didn't it. After deposing a maniac who was putting his people literally through the meat grinder and defeating those loony tunes the new fearless USA leader comes in, takes all the US troops out and leaves the country to be overrun with even bigger evil nut jobs who are now have spread across the middle east and now the African continent.

So now following your philosophy leaving the nut jobs to themselves we now have a more dangerous world for everyone including boaters.

I'm writing this using a Samsung phone. This wouldn't be the case if it wasn't for the thousands of US troops that till this day patrol the North South Korean border.

From Japan to Germany to Korea we have successful cases where American troops have created and still create a more stable and safer world. It is the crazy policies of handing the world over to the very bad people such as what has just now happened in the mid East is nuts.

Your line of thinking is not just bad policy but crazy and dangerous given the effects such thinking has in the world.

Already we have parts of the Mediterranean that are unsafe and getting more so as each week goes by. IMHO

My goodness. How can you even attempt to give moral support or justification for terrorists. They are the scum and cowards of the earth. Blowing up children in schools. Killing civilians eating pizza in a pizza shop. I could go on and on.

The Geneva convention on the rules of law considered un - uniformed combatants as the worst. So much so that if a soldier took of his uniform, dressed as a civilian and then used hiding amongst civilians to wage war this low life if caught was to not to become a prisoner of war but summarily executed by shooting.

I find equating freedom fighters like the brave Americans who fought against the oppressive British overlords in the war of independence with vermin terrorists as sickening. No one man's terrorist is NOT another man's freedom fighter.

Let me go now and throw up from your sickening statement and then write in my diary ..... buy my next cat in Europe and then immediately get the heck out of there.

If I am not mistaken Israel was created by a mandate given down by the League of Nations .Cunningham handed over that mandate to David Ben Gurean (sp?) in May 1948 got in his car and left..Handing Israel over to be pounced on by the Arabs the next day I think..The British provided a protectorate,The trouble wasn't repression as much as fighting between Haganu and Arabs with Britian in the middle..The King David Hotel bombing was to me the equivalent to the Commies burning the Reich stag !! If not It sure was a convenient way for Britain to bow out and leave it all to Israel!!

Really?!?

All my reading of history suggests boatman61 is perfectly correct.

Winners write the lies.

On average people take 8.5 years to get used to and accept the new boss (who is really the same as the old boss in terms of contempt for followers).

Or if you're into jargon, solid scientific research suggests that 8.5 years creates an acceptance for a new political culture.

Which means that if a winner can repeat lies for 8.5 years, the winner turns from terrorist/murderer to freedom fighter/divine monarch/justifiable and legitimate leader.

You know the line about it being better for your peace of mind as a sausage eater not to know just how the sausage is made, no?

You obviously don't have kids in school these days...that's exactly what the education establishment is teaching the youths. Control education and you control the future, and Alan's "research" proves my point. George Washington was a terrorist along with all the signers of the Declaration of Independence, no better than Osama Bin Laden in their eyes, we have a culture of educated fools barely smart enough to use the freedom they have to protect their own freedom. Rinse Dry Repeat, so goes Rome.

Do tell where one might find this 'solid scientific research'? At 8.5 yrs that means Slick Willy and GW cant control our lives as they only had 8 years as opposed to 8 1/2...6 months really makes a difference?

Hey.. acts of terrorism were committed by both Arab and Jew.. fair do's on each other.. just kinda ironic blowing up the citizens of the one of the countries that bailed em out of the camps.. while the US turned shiploads of Jews seeking refuge back to Europe and Palistine.
And before I get anti-zionist labeled on me you should know.. I was a fan of Israel for a long time.. they had guts, fought like demons against all sides and did it with honour.. and turned a desert into oasis's.. but they have I feel left honour somewhere by the wayside.. and it saddens me..
As to the way I think.. on the Indian sub-Continent it was a different WW2.. and my 'Hero General' as a kid was a guy called Orde Wingate.. specialised in guerrila warfare, crazy ideas and audacity.. and heroic men subsisting much of the time.. in the Burmese jungle behind Japanese lines 6mths or more at a time.. slow the invasion off India..
So forgive my impartial perspective.. never been of the mob mentality..
