Thanks for this. I'm guessing it'll generate some interesting discussions.

Re: Simple guide to Boat insurance
It is written from the US American point of view.
You can gather more EU interest by extending the part talking the third party insurance. This one is OBLIGATORY in the EU.
I will re-read your white paper again in a minute. Thanks for sharing&caring!

Re: Simple guide to Boat insurance
While the insurance info was mildly interesting, the sensual images on your blog were generally excellent. Be true to those ends!
I salute your Rear Admiral.

Re: Simple guide to Boat insurance
I wonder how many insurers, brokers, and agents actually provide the actual policy language or even make it readily available to the buyer before the policy is paid for and issued.

Re: Simple guide to Boat insurance
You know what would be really useful, and very interesting, is to have a list of actual rates people are paying for the various forms of insurance. Break it down by insurer and region perhaps.
Yes, I know… many variables. But if we all contributed our actual rates we’d really generate some interesting data.

Oh, I think they add up HA! Get it! …
OK, sorry about that one .
But sure, I’m game. How about I set up some fields, we refine (if need be) and then I’ll compile the data and make it available to all. It will be simple, but hopefully useful.
But perhaps a new thread Nostrodamus? Don’t want to perform an unfriendly hijack of yours...

Ok. I will contribute and I expect many here would too.
New thread with appropriate title probably better.

Beyond "interesting data" a robust dataset would increase competition and drive down insurance costs. Would be great, but not so easy since you'll have to track a lot of variables in the specific policy...
