You can't even imagine what the cost for this service is in the USA. Our current Verizon US plan charges around $80 for only 6GB of shared data and requires a family extortion plan.

What are you up to today in Mallorca? I'm anchoed next to Poloux today, he arrived late last night just in time for a 30 minute fireworks display in the harbor. Mrs. Mac and I will be heading over to Capri early tomorrow morning.
For some reason this cold is lingering... over all the pain and the discomfort, just tired and mucus in the chest.... will go for coffee and a gentle amble to my(ex) restaurant later.....

A lovely day... enjoy yours.

Re: Sardinia Squad

We plan to be in Sardinia sometime in early August. We will be meeting my brother and his family as they travel to Italy on holiday. We will post an update as the plans solidify.

Boat is in Lisbon right now, and we are in Ireland to save Schengen days.

Looking forward to stopping by to say hello! Cheers!

Days at sea don't count towards Schengen. Just be sure to check out with immigration officials and have your passport stamped out when you set off on your boat. Easy to do in Spain or Italy. Basically, living in anchorages can be Schengen free if you plan smart and are honest with officials..

Re: Sardinia Squad

Hi Ken -

I'm in Ravello and Positano today, heading over to Capri for a quick mid-morning hike up to Villa Jovis. Have you guys made it yet to Capri, and are you moored somewhere near the main/commercial marina? If so, another late lunch would work!!!

Cheers, Matthias

What are your plans for next Wed and Thurs? I may need to head back to Olbia alone on Orinoco. Would you be interested in a two day sail?

Re: Sardinia Squad

Maybe next time. Our eta for Capri is 4pm today, wanna get together sometime before you leave?

Our new freezer compressor (5 days old) appears to have sh*t itself last evening, so now trying to decide whether to return for a repair or carry on with just the fridge, jumbo fridge and Icemaker for the season. Which would mean no fresh daily gelato onboard.

These are tough decisions.....

Re: Sardinia Squad

True... but as long as you're off Italy's shores then there's always the new dinghy to take you to the nearest gelateria...

I'm in Positano tonight, taking an early ferry to Capri tomorrow morning. You can join me for the hike (fairly easy - amazing views) or just do lunch again... around 1ish or 2ish..... I'll need to get back on a ferry around 3ish, as I'll still have an almost 4-hour drive to Bari. The life of people without sailboats, you know.

Re: Sardinia Squad

Grey day on the way to Capri. Pam navigating while Auto manages the helm. The new main and recut jib is working out great, the boat points at least 10 degrees closer to the wind. Here we're making 8 knots in only 12 knots of wind.
