Sailing tours/resources for La Spezia, Italy

My fiancee and I will be traveling to Italy for our wedding at the end of September and we'll be spending a couple nights near La Spezia. We'd love to go sailing for a few hours while we are there, possibly around the gulf and near Cinque Terre.

We both have some experience sailing, but neither of us are comfortable taking a boat out on our own in a foreign country. We'd love to hire a captain with a boat to bring us on an afternoon/ evening sail. Not looking to be on a boat with a full crew or a large group, we want to participate in the sailing. Any resources or names of companies that offer this type of thing would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I don’t know or have any experience with this company but we saw this boat anchored beside us when we visited Porto Venere in April. They also have a more sailing oriented boat I see on the website. Give them a call and see what they can offer. Veeery nice area both on land and at sea.

My understanding of gulets is that there are motorboats with a mast and rigging to look like a sailboat. If you look at the dimensions of the rigging you see that it can not be used with whatever wind conditions, it is just for show.

Enter “la spezia” and “charter” in your favorite search engine, select map and choose one of the proposed charter companies. I was there a week ago, the season is very low key, you will not have any difficulty in finding what you want for the 2 of you.
