Sailing Conditions in December in South Aegean (Samos)

I have my fingers crossed that the survey will be done on the "almost my" by either the end of this week or early next and the sale be completed shortly after. I am allowing for an extra month of painful bureaucracy as I re-register in the UK and register it in Sweden.

So am planning to go down for about a week in early December to check all the systems on the boat to make sure I know them etc... Then hopefully I will go sailing for a few days.

I am wondering what kind of weather occurs out on the water? I can see that the average max air temp will be around 12 to 14 and rain is likely, but what about the wind and seas?

You can expect southern winds up to 6 or 7 Beauforts, with quite steep and short waves, or northern winds up to 7 or 8 Beauforts, with steep breaking waves. Not the best time for the area. Check for the weather at:

It's quite reliable.
For first short cruise Lipsi and Patmos are well worth a visit, but remeber that Patmos harbour may be untenable in strong southeasterlies.
