Re: regulations, permits, visas, etc.
This is an old thread, but someone just asked me, so I'm asking on his behalf.
As a Canadian, under Schengen, we are still only allowed 90 days total sailing or visiting in Med Countries. Is that correct?

Frankly, as a Canadian you are not a Schengen subject. UK never signed the Schengen-treaty. So, how can you be?

Re: regulations, permits, visas, etc.
I found some more info on it, and while Canadians are exempt from requiring a Visa, they are still subject to 90 days in the Med every 180 days.

Yes that's correct unfortunately. It's easy to get around If you're sailing

In practice it's means overstaying, but currently there isn't a full computer hookup so port immigration will rarely bother looking back in your passport, especially if you're visa exempt. They will just stamp a new one in giving you 90 days equally since there is no exit stamp requirement they can't really tell if you just been on the high seas for a while. Just be pleasant,
Of course your are illegally overstaying and there's a small but finite risk, if your not comfortable with that stick to the rules
