Sorry for late reply.
Haven't been boating north of Stadt myself, but one area known to be rough, is Hustadvika, the sea area between Ålesund and Kristiansund.
Some areas are exposed further north too.

The other option I found is individual chart sheets but to cover the same are seems to be more expensive.
I prefer to use the full sheets for coastal, the Sports Charts (especially Stavanger) are plain useless for inshore navigation. It tends to mean that you need 3 or 4 charts to do any useful navigation at any time. Keeping them up to date is also harder as the corrections are always for the full sheets. The full sheets should be a bit cheaper - about 390kr for printed on demand. Nautical Paper Charts | Kartverket has a list of charts.

Re: Norway - requesting cruising info

Wilk - I'd avoid the RCC Norway (by Judy/Judith Lomax ) cruising guide if you just want to do 10 days on the west coast and get one of the Havneguiden books instead. The RCC book is good for the full country but misses some of the nicer smaller stops that are covered in a more detailed regional book. The Haven Guiden also has better info for mooring and guest harbours(maps, and photos) and seems to be more up to date - at least for Ryflyke and Rogaland around Stavanger. Having said that the RCC guide has got other interesting info in it about Norway.

Den Norsk Los is now only downloadable in Norwegian - but worth having a copy of either way - it has fuel dock listings in the back and is usable with a bit of google translate.

If sea state is a concern then keep an eye on https://www.barentswatch.no/bolgevarsel/ this should give you sea state and forecast for all dangerous sea areas in Norway.

So, we got the electronics sorted - along with an EPIRB and some other gear. The guides and pilot books are in and the planning has begun in earnest. Insurance was a bit of a struggle but my broker eventually found a UK based company who would take us on. It's going to come down to getting the right weather during the work window we have!
