Non EU boat in Europe for longer than 18 months

Hi there
I'm a EU citizen, living outside the EU, and the yacht is a non EU vessel, laying in Greece and 7 months on the hard (from October till May). My transit log is every winter in deposit since October 18 at the Greek customs. So I sailed in Greece since june 2018, 2 x 5 months (2018 and 2019) and also 2 x 7 months deposited transit log at customs. The plan was to leave Greece in june this year (within 24 months transit log) and come back in October 2020 and put the vessel on the hard for coming winter. But with the Corona Pandemic I will not go to Greece before September. Do anybody know when I must leave Greece avoiding paying VAT?
Normally I could stay for 18 months real sailing time. This would mean I could stay for another 8 months sailing time. Is this correct?
Thanks for your experience.
Enjoy summer and stay healthy

yes, correct.
BTW, you are not a EU citizen if you don't live in the EU. You might have the nationality of one of the EU countries :-)

No, he had it right. He is not a EU *resident* if he doesn't reside within the EU, but you don't lose your citizenship for not being there. https://www.merriam-webster.com/word...and-a-resident

Well, I might be wrong but if a EU citizen buys a yacht that is in the EU, then on purchase VAT needs to be paid if it hasn't already. For example buying an ex charter yacht.

You are wrong. VAT is only payable on purchase if the buyer is an EU resident.
