Karpaz marina High wind storm

just to let every one know who has a yacht here in karpaz marina that your yachts are safe with no damage to any yachts except for a few bimini tears only .
from about 15.30 here in Cyprus we had very high winds for a sustained period of over 12hrs the highest i recorded was 57.6 knots which did last for about 1/2 hr and at one stage from 17.00hr to 21.00 hrs it was constant at 44.7 knots at around 22.00 it started to drop to 38 knots and was like that until 3.00 am
i personally would like to thank the marina workers for staying on and working till 03.00 hr and keeping a constant check on all boats and yachts while i had my beauty sleep i sleep that well as they came on board some time after 23.00hr and put two more fenders out on my stern as i was getting pushed back some 2.5 meters in this wind plus i was heeling over some 15 degrees so once again thank you, you know who you are

The marina is in the North Cyprus. The banking problem is in the South Cyprus.

The trnc are offering a wopping 5% for euro money

Hi Dale thanks for the report. Hope you guys are all ok. Which direction did that windstorm come in from? Hopefully Kiki 1 weathered the blow without further damage to the Bimini. Wayne

it came in from sw to w but over a 24hr period it was swinging from sw to nw this is the worst wind for the marina it was coming right up your backside i havent had a chance to go and have a look at sail yet and see if i can repack it (stitching on stack pack zips are gone ) but lets just say the side covers of the bimini and the zips have seen better days the top looks ok at moment so you wont get your head burnt

Thanks for that Dale. If I had been facing the opposite way would I have been better off maybe. Should I consider having the boat moved to another pontoon?
