How big do Salamanders get in Turkey ?

I suppose I should find another forum - but this one is specific to where I am.
.
Whilst launching the dinghy I spotted what looked like a salamander scuttling under me along the sea bed - still not sure what I saw and my camera is bust - so let me explain...

appeared to be dull brown, approx (thumbsuck)350 - 600 mm long with a 1/3 tail, 1/3 body and neck & head the rest. had a typical salamander wriggle and appeared to be scooting across with its 4 legs. I dont think it was a bird (cormarant) because of this and anyway the tail was quite long.

Anybody else seen anything like this ?

Kris - Eastern Turkey near Alanya.

Luschan's salamander or the Lycian salamander (Lyciasalamandra luschani) is a species of salamander in the Salamandridae family found in Greece and Turkey.
Luschan's salamander is brown with small yellow dots dorsally, yellow or whitish laterally, and flesh-colored ventrally. The eyes are prominent, as are the narrow paratoid glands. The tail is thin. Males have a protruding "spike" at the base of their tails on the dorsal surface. Adults may grow to 13 cm (5.1 in) in total length.
