Encounter with refugees
Hello!
I am sailor but also a director and screenwriter. I am currently developing a story which deals with the trafficking- and refugee-situation in the Mediterranean sea. I am looking for sailors who encountered refugees offshore. It would be very helpful to hear your experiences, thoughts, impressions. Please drop me a line if you saw or had interaction with refugees at sea or if you know about an encounter anyone else had. It would be very helpful for developing my story.
Thank you so much.
Best
Marc

Re: Encounter with refugees
Marc,
There was one of the sailors in Europe last season had such an encounter, used their dinghy to ferry people in the water ashore. Carstenb may remember who it was, I do not.

Re: Encounter with refugees
There are some threads on the YBW forum Liveaboard Link concerning a cruiser who assisted in a rescue in Greece last year.

Re: Encounter with refugees
The name of the CF member is "NornaBiron", iirc. Thanks, atoll, for jogging my memory.
