cruising in Albania

We are planing to sail from Corfu to Croatia via Albania and Montenegro this summer. Are there any marinas or harbors that can accommodate a 2.2M draft safely?

You'll find a brief summary of harbours en route on this JimB Sail page,

Apologies though, the Montenegro harbours still haven't been entered!

Most harbours are designed for big commercial traffic rather than leisure yachts, so draft isn't a problem

We're doing the same route in May/June and I will be updating the port entries for Albania and Montenegro on the World Cruising and Sailing Wiki as we go (including depths). So if you are heading up to Croatia after (say) mid-June all the information will be on the Wiki for you.

From memory, you should certainly be OK for depth in Sarande and Durres in Albania and you should (with care) also be able to squeeze into the marina at Orikum. In Montenegro, Budva and Bar along the coast and Herceg-Novi, Tivat and Kotor in the Gulf of Kotor all have adequate depths. I'll be able to confirm this by mid-June (assuming you don't get earlier confirmation from someone who has been there recently).

Thank you, we will be going later in the year, and would love to have the benefit of your experience. Best,

I've checked out JimB Sail Page, and it is useful. Thanks!

Lori,
You should buy the 777 Pilot on the Adriatic. It has a huge section on Albania.

Re: cruising in Albania

In my previous post I attached an image. Can anyone see it? On my screen it only says "rotate Image". Odd as it showed the book on post preview.

That whole coast is for the most part draft friendly. No problem except maybe finding a spot. Lots of boats

No problem Lisa. Though I must have a new problem with the forum as I still can't see the image posted. Very weird after 6 years.

Re: cruising in Albania

I just got quotes from several agents in Albania and they all quoted me with 100 Euros per clearance meaning to enter and exit Albania it will cost 200 euros. When you add cost of marina Okilum and Durres it is another 100.
Since we are planning to return back from Greece to Montenegro it is around 600 Euros in total.
