Crosshaven - County Cork

I'm setting off to Glandore in about 10 days time, mainly single handing, but the GF will join for a few days, flying into Cork.
I'll lay over in Crosshaven for a night. Looking at the notes on the harbour, it mentions Coveney Pier, which costs 21 Euro per day, as compared to nearly 40 Euro for one of the marina's there.
Has anyone used this pier, is it a good place to stay over, or is it most likely to be crowded with day fishing boats?
