Croatian charter to visit Venice

We booked bareboat charter from Biograd (Croatia) for 3 weeks in June 2018. We are thinking about sailing to Venice for couple of days. Has anyone done it (using charter boat)? I imagine clearing customs is required since Italy is Schengen zone. Are Croatian charter boats even allowed to visit neighbouring countries?

I believe you need to consult your charter company on that. It will depend on their internal policy.
If they allow it, you will presumably need to go through the process of leaving Croatia, entering Italy, leaving Italy & entering Croatia.
