The majority of pay to anchor zones are within the village limits

If you don’t want to pay move a half mile down the coast

which is the correct purchase for a proper guide to study and use on board while cruising? TIA!
You can buy from the publisher for £45:

There are some bays where you have to pay to pick up a buoy, anchoring is usually free but with the buoys there isn't much room left. I have been charged 50% to anchor, this was at the top end of Korcula just before you head down the channel to Vela Luka.

The good thing is, they are in the minority, I just move onto the next bay.

Aim to get where you want to be by lunch time or soon after, during the season they get crowded pretty quick

The Adriatic is a closed sea and as such, has a very limited tidal range, it's probably only 10" which is not likely to cause you any problems.

However, where the tide is squeezed between islands you can have quite a strong current at times. On the west side of Otok Marinkovac opposite the town of Hvar is a good example, I have seen a 4 knot current there several times.
