Re: BREXIT

90 days cruising in Europe and then have to exit the area and then return.
Not a biggie. Many do it now.

Morrocco is great to visit..Turkey.

No worries.

Gibraltar might change its VAT exemption laws to European visitors, I bet that will hurt.

Its not.. but a few have come unstuck with the VAT rules thinking spending time in the UK and Channel Islands wins them more time in Europe.. from Jan 31st onwards it will.. we will join the countries that folk can run to to escape for a while like Turkey, Morocco etc.
As for exats, life won't change, Portugal is happy for us to stay, same with Spain.. its foreign revenue and welcomed, many Andalusian coastal towns would close if the Brits left.

There is not a problem.
Bad news for you... 'Straya and Unzud have managed without the UK for almost 50 years.... our lamb and beef goes to China... OK the offal goes to Russia and Kazikstan... none to spare for you lot... get to the back of the queue...

Demand is such that domestic prices in Au and NZ are off the scale....

Not only can the UK not go back to 'imperial preferences' it can't go back to being a green and pleasant land either...

Sorry about that..

PS Can't go back to buying beef from Argentina either....

Everyone does.. that's why I have no worries about leaving the EU. Its a pain to lose the arrangement but then the EU could stop being so protectionist and allow our relationship to continue without the centralised government... that was never the proposed plan, but i rather think it was the intent.

We would be well on our way to financial stability by now.... No European country would have refused trade with us.......... Germany sells 30% of its cars to the UK. Hike up prices of spares? Lol.. good news for Japan... they would do a deal and Britain goes fully Japanese.

I think Boatie is right. NOTHING will change in general except going back to trading with Australia and New Zealand and more with the USA and Korea and .... you get the picture. For those that don't know, Australian and New Zealand lamb is the best in the world. Welsh lamb is too expensive.

No European country will snub the UK.. period.

Look what has happened to Greece. Shameful.

As for boating.... if one European country disrespects the UK sailors then we go somewhere else. Spain tried it over Gibraltar. Gibraltar closed the border to the 10000 Spanish workers and....wow! problem was solved immediately.

The UK is not going to take being a political hostage. No country should ever fear to leave a union if it no longer suits them. Drugs from Europe get overpriced to the UK? Ive news for you.. THEY ALREADY ARE. Buy from USA or India.

There is not a problem.

Have NZ forgiven us for collapsing their lamb industry overnight when we signed up to the EU and stopped importing from them?

Re: BREXIT

Brexit may well now be inevitable but there is a long, long way to go yet. I chuckle at the fact that the Brextremists on here appear to be those who have migrated to other EU countries. You couldn’t make it up.

Some figures.. https://www.agriculture.gov.au/expor...stics#november
Some facts.. https://www.globalmeatnews.com/Artic...nd-New-Zealand

I've bought vacuum packed Australian beef in Chile.... packed by (Brazilian) Swift ... not sure what that proves... probably more Au beef in Chile than Au lamb in Iceland...

I take exception to being called an extremist. I also work for the British government in the medical field in Spain. Your next point?

Naah... NZ lamb is in the shops already. Its a case of sucking it up and making the best of a bad job. It was not a good move to forsake our NZ and Australian brethren...

I personally will make it up to them by eating as much lamb as I can........
