Hello to all you real mariners from a softie on the
canal du midi here in the south of
france.
I have been poaching lots of your ideas &
advice for quite some time and I am not one bit ashamed... keep em comin'....visiting CF every day is like being able to walk into the local
marine stuff shop and pin down the really old gnarly guy (with the deep yellow teeth) who knows EVERYTHING about everything, is able to put a name and use to something that you can only mime its name or function using your fingers pointing wildly around the shop.... and he appears to be absolutely over the moon to see you, day after day.... you know, the guy you want to have a few beers with, but only in the afternoon ...
...anyway to a sort of point for this post....
... Now and then I meet guys (& gals) who show an interest in having a
boat on the inland waterways of
france and as I have been blundering about here for several years I am happy to share most of what I know about this wonderful place..rules & regs, absolutely nothing enginy, and then I thought that a simple post ( this is me doing simple, get over it) on Cruiser forum might allow me some payback to you guys.....to be continu.....
