Any knowledge of Stoppani antifoul paint?

Will be painting the bottom soon and I keep coming across Stoppani paints, the boat is in Greece and this paint seems popular and affordable.
Apart from Interlux and Petit, I don't know much about other paints.
Any insight would be welcome.
Thanks!

Re: Any knowledge of Stoppani antifoul paint?

Hello,

I have just ordered 5 liters of Fisher paint to be delivered in Preveza where my boat is at the moment. I used this one last year. The boat went to water in the beginning of May and came out of water in mid September in perfect condition. I applied it myself last year in Oporto. Just a slight sanding and one coat overall and 2 coats in the more "exposed" areas. This year the yard will make the job as they quote me about 200 euros which I found very reasonable.

As long I take the boat out of water for the winter I will stay on this one. Here is a link from where I ordered it:

Antifouling paint FISHER PAINT - 2,5 l Black - 65.876.23 - Antifouling and Paints-1

Vladis,
Thanks for your info. I guess if it was perfect after 4 months it should be good for 6-9 months?

In the description, it says it is a soluble matrix, does this mean the paint is soft and is a polishing type?
Thanks

Re: Any knowledge of Stoppani antifoul paint?

Hello George,

Yes it is the soluble type. Some people paint a first layer with a different colour so that when the first color starts to show it is an indication to apply new antifouling. I will have the boat (40 feet) in the water just 4 months and so 5 litres will do the job. If I had to be double time in water I would buy 7,5 litres so that I could apply 2 coats allover the hull.
