For example think of Detroit Michigan and Windsor Canada. Both cities have the same variants running around. What is the point of requiring a negative test within a day of travel or forcing people who would ordinarily drive across the border to go to the airport and sit in a crowded plane to be able to cross the border?
Is it time to tell our politicians to open up or am I missing some crucial piece of logic?

Because right now we can go to the outlet mall and it's not loaded with Canadians, or so wife says. And Americans aren't rushing over the border to buy
beer, so Canadians can drink
beer less expensively.
Meanwhile, the past two summers Canadians have enjoyed their side of Thousand Islands without being swamped by US visitors. I don't like it, but that's the way it is.
The Mohawks are making a killing moving goods through the rez that straddles the border. OK, so most of it's illegal, but you get my point.
12,400 US and Canadian border staff are sitting at home. And getting paid good wages. You think they want to go back to
work? Let me speak for them: "KISS MY A**"
Canadian banks are in hog heaven, all the snowbirds had all that unspent
money sitting in the bank, making
money, for the banks. TONS of money!
I'm kinda liking lockdown. Somebody told me the malls, bowling alleys, boutiques, and
movie theaters had been closed. Son of a gun, no kidding!
Nobody told me I couldn't walk into Canada, kinda like lotsa people do, you know, like where there's no gate....as in, like 2000km on that there border. Oh, BTW, in Tijuana at the closest gift shop you can follow the trail through the hedgerow, the fence is down, and you'll be in the parking lot on the US side.
Air travel is awesome. Sure, flights are packed, but NOBODY is waiting to get through
security, and parking is aplenty. I'm loving air travel. OK, Kuwait just locked down two days ago, but
Italy is available.
I suppose it would be nice to drive up to Toronto or Kingston. Sure as heck they'd better open up before July, bastages. But seriously, it's forced us to enjoy our side of the border, you know "oh we'll get there some day." Well, now we have!
