Its Plonkers like you lot that are happily allowing the State and Federal Governments to remove Freedom after Freedom - Time to grow up children.

I shall take that response to my question to be 'Yes, Vaccinated.'

Nobody has forced me, or any other Australian, to get vaccinated but I have just scored some Qantas status credits because I am vaxxed.

I saw that incentive from the flying gumboot. So I’ve booked myself in for a few more shots. After 78 vaccines I’ll have enough points to fly to Adelaide instead of muddling along in this dear old boat.

Re: The Reality of Living in Australia and Covid

I got vaccinated for Tetanus, hepatitis, polio, flu, whooping cough, diphtheria, tuberculosis, and probably a few others, so getting vaccinated for covid was fine by me. I don't care if others don't get vaccinated, Darwin will win out in the end.

Seriously folks, my freedom to drive in the middle of the road has been violated, I demand that someone do something about it.

Read some of the laws and mandates passed if you really want to know what has been eroded, I am not here to educate you or even convince you of anything, you can only do that yourself.

There has been a lot of very useful information and perspective shared here on this topic, but unfortunately also a good bit that doesn't align with forum rules. Please respect your fellow members by thinking through this before posting:

- Is it true?

- Is it helpful?

- Is it kind?

If you have any questions about this, feel free to message any moderator.

Please, let's keep this thread focused on Living in AUSTRALIA.

What a strange moderation

The whole thread has nothing to do with cruising or sailing. Delete the whole thing if you are being consistent.

As for politics. It’s seems to apply to US politics only.

They're calling them other things but basically they are the "state of emergency" so beloved of petty dictators.

It would have helped had DD showed a little consistency, BLM protest with thousands with no masks or social distancing, she's right mate, no problem and not a policeman in riot gear present. Anti lock down, mongrel anarchists, break out the riot gear and when you have your knee on their necks, grab their wallets.

And your problem is what exactly?

For GBN Re moderation of this thread.
Two points.
Australians don't get bent out of shape over politics and can discuss things in a rational manner. Most will give their vote to the 'free beer' party.

This thread is all about sailing.
GiLow has an interest in border closures and lockdowns as they are impacting all his current sailing plans.
Like wise Jim and Ann who are looking forward to another winter - their third - in the rip roaring forties.
Me, I think the government's international travel restrictions are disgusting. The sooner they are lifted and I can get back to sailing the better.
UFO? Pretty sure his views are influenced by the effect on his sailing plans.

Raymond? Lying in the sun on his boat somewhere in the Whitsundays and just getting his jollies poking us southerners with a stick.

As I say its all about sailing.

Re: The Reality of Living in Australia and Covid

I am not lying in the Whitsundays in the sun, I got bored and decided to go sailing so wandered my way north to Cairns. Right now I am sitting in my saloon in a T shirt and shorts with all the hatches open typing this.

I've actually had an ambition to sail south and circumnavigate Tasmania for about twenty years now but in spite of having been able to overcome a myriad of challenges during that twenty years have been unable to overcome my fear of freezing to death. I did get as far south as Yamba/Iluka a couple of years ago but decided I was cool enough at that far south. Maybe next year.
