@ El Ping,
People who ride America's budget airlines know to bring food. With you wanting to move through with minimum exposure, you did the best you could under the circumstances. Too bad someone doesn't have a food for ongoing travelers service.

There's a rumor floating about that in order to board the aircraft you must show evidence of vaccination, booster and funeral insurance.
And back when I used to ride in airplanes a lot, one often elected to not eat on board due to the really nasty food offered.
But 36 hours is a long hungry time...

If the coffee had no sugar or cream/milk, then you got a decent intermittent fast! Good for you!
Had a cup of coffee this morning, just black, and I am on my 18th hour of a fast and still have a couple of hours before I will have time to eat. Supposed to be good for you but it sure helps loose weight.
Later,

Re: The Reality of Living in Australia and Covid
I don't get all the fuss? The solution is simple - get vaccinated.
I know NSW is THE LEGISLATION STATE, but we had 90,000 covid cases in the last reporting period with 22 deaths. I don't do politics. For that I don't care. I do however care about the public health and our abilities to cope with the Omicron outbreak.
For once though I reckon those in charge might be getting it right. I also feel for Kerry Chant the NSW Chief Health Officer.
On Djokovic, Victorian Premier says: ‘Just get vaccinated’
By Cassandra Morgan
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has once again swatted away questions about the Novak Djokovic debacle, saying visa issues lie solely with the federal government.
However, during this morning’s press conference he said: “Just get vaccinated.”
“That’s what I’ve done, that’s what my kids have done,” the Premier added.
“That’s what … 93 per cent of our community has done. We’ve had to make some difficult decisions along the way to get to those numbers.”
Mr Andrews also reiterated that the Australian Open is “bigger than any one person”, “just like the safety of our community is bigger than any one person”.
“It’s called a Grand Slam for a reason,” he said.
Please don't get personal with me about COVID. I am back on the boat while all sides of my family in Newcastle have contracted the Omicron strain. Daughter's Grandmother in hospital and her mother having breathing problems. Both double vaxinated so no real threat to their lives, but the household where they contracted it were deniers.
All started here when ONE infected individual came up form Sydney and partied at the Argyle nightclub. Same night my partner's son was there. Even after he tested positive to a home test he refused to wear a mask. When I called him out from a reasonable distance he went for a knife. So where should the responsibility start and stop?

Just make sure you have a bigger knife. Or a gun. Ideally a big one.

Does declining the airline food remove the need for funeral insurance?

What a joke. Who needs a "bigger knife"? Lol
If things are unfortunate to go that way what you need is "the right knife" if even that if you have trained under the right people. Definitely NOT a gun. Similarly, unless you grow a brain NOTHING WILL PROTECT YOU FROM COVID.

Negated by flying in a 737Max8. Taking off into heavy turbulence at a few thousand feet didn't help my digestive system all that much.

Thanks.
Nice. I will have to add one to my EBAY orders. Unfortunately, I need to get odd the safety of my boat and go to my mail holding service at Newcastle- COVID CENTRAL- to pick up these essential items.

Any one with a liscense and a truck should be in high demand at the moment!

Re: The Reality of Living in Australia and Covid
Australia agrees to delay Novak Djokovic’s deportation
Australia will delay efforts to deport men’s top-ranked tennis player Novak Djokovic until his renewed legal challenge concludes [Saturday?].
At an emergency hearing on Friday, government lawyer Stephen Lloyd told a judge that Australia would not detain Djokovic before an interview with immigration officials on Saturday morning and he would not be deported before his case is heard.
Earlier on Friday, the Australian government revoked the tennis player’s visa for a second time which left the Serbian facing deportation.
It said Djokovic, unvaccinated for COVID-19, may pose a risk to the community.
Immigration Minister Alex Hawke used discretionary powers after a court quashed an earlier revocation and released him from immigration detention on Monday.
