For our history buffs:

Q: Who led the Australians into the promised land, through a semi-permeable membrane?
A: Ozmoses.

The world’s oldest top 10 joke list, published by Dr Paul McDonald, at the University of Wolverhampton
In 2008, British historians tracked down the world's oldest written joke: a fart joke, from 1900 BCE.

Up in Darwin (NT) they are pretty easy going and laid back but don't tell porkies on your entry paperwork, especially if you bring Covid with you and throw the locals into restrictions.

$5,000 fine - mostly for the fibbing.

Good news
88.2% of Australians over the age of 12 y.o. have had their first shot ( with 79% fully vaxxed) so should hit 90% fully vaxxed by Christmas.

Not so good news.
Unvaxxed pregnant women ending up in ICU

Not sure whether this is good news or bad.

Ping, just wondering, when is Kim up for election?
Or am I just being cynical?

Kim doesn't do elections but Mark had a go 'bout 6 months ago and got a 18% upswing - not bad and prolly can afford to gamble a bit for awhile longer yet.

Next go around is 2025 and he's has 53 of 59 seats ATM.

I’m down to sweating on LGAs. Want to collect my car from Melbourne when the SA border opens up on the 23rd, but they’ve put a rider on it, the LGA you return from must be at 80% second dose. And yep, you guessed it, my car is sitting in one of the lagging LGAs in Melbourne. [emoji34]

Are you flying in?
Have someone drive your car out to Tulla. That's in the City of Hume - currently on 78.7% - 95% at least one shot.

Only really possibly dodgy place is the actual City of Melbourne ( 67%/75%) but the Lord Mayor reckons that is based on dodgy data. She reckons they are using 2019 census data for population and all the foreign students , Bulgarian baristas and Chinese chefs have buggered orf home. Drop the population by 30,000 and they are 95% first shot.

Moving to other epicentre of dissent - Melbourne, the ratbags were about only about 0.06%of the population. Conversely 99.94% of Melbourne stayed at home.

So yeah, five times more likely to stumble across a ratbag in Darwin compared to Melbourne.

Yep, that’s the fallback plan. Of course, it would mean I’d be leaving Melbourne at 1 pm for the drive back to Adelaide, not ideal. So I passed on the option of a cheaper later flight that gets in at 6 pm.

Hanging out for the next data dump onto CovidLive, they do some good LGA data crunching. I think it comes in on Wednesday. That should tell me if I’ll be safe. Darebin and Moreland are the ones to watch.

The data by postcode for Victoria gave me a chuckle. There’s a great big purple low-uptake patch just to the north of the city that looks suspiciously like the shape of the Melbourne General Cemetery. Sheesh, they are not letting ANYONE off the hook, are they?

Wrong again.
The Estimated Resident Population of City of Darwin was 82,030 as of the 30th June 2020.
Please recalculate.
