Bold assumption here - I take it that I am part of 'you lot'.

I am no end unimpressed and now hope that the electorate gives him the 'Full Churchill' at the next election. Sadly the opposition will have to lift its game more than a little.
I don't think they even know how to play the 'free beer' card.

I think Mr B was referring to me in the royal plural .
I seem to be the only one kicking up a fuss about the draconian mandates.

Not at all, your 'draconian mandates' concern golf, rabid antivax ratbags getting bashed by the cops, and similar.

You must have missed the latest - which is on its way to the upper house.

The description of “rabid antivax ratbag” is appallingly now being applied to anyone who is vaccine hesitant. I can’t believe how quickly Aussies are not just drinking the Kool Aid, but begging for it.

And I am also appalled at the new legislation proposed. Regardless of what you think about vaccination being mandated in order to participate in society, few Aussie politicians seem to be trusted or have ever been trusted. Why are we so keen to give these individuals (not groups, but individuals) such extraordinary powers?

Truly ? First known use of “rabid antivax ratbag”in Australia was when I used it last week. I hope I am getting royalties or wotever. Can you show me other examples so I can pursue the users to the fullest extent of the law? I'll be rich!!!
Ta.

Dan is just doing this because he has seen how well it worked for Kim il McGowan at the ballot box.

Re: The Reality of Living in Australia and Covid

And also , I only use “rabid antivax ratbag” to describe “rabid antivax ratbags”.

In the shire in which I live in we have 690 unvaccinated people over the age of 16 - we have no “rabid antivax ratbags”

We have 690 people who have simply decided not to get vaccinated - they bother me not a zot.

No royalties, but I will see if I can get a town named after you .

Seriously though, friendships are ending and there is even discord in families over vaccination attitudes. I have not come across this personally, nor have I heard of this occurring in Europe. The unvaccinated are being treated by many (the majority?) as social pariahs in Australia.

Im a Victorian locked out because the Border is closed,
Ive been in NSW since June,

I was talking to a friend currently in Moscow for his sick Mum, He cant come home to Victoria, Even tho his two teenage boys are here,

I live here and haven't heard about it occuring either.

I'd have to really apply myself to find any unvaxxed let alone any 'rabid antivax ratbags'.

Have you been reading the 'Daily Wail' again?

And yes I do get out and about - probably more than I would if I was on my yacht in the Western Isles.

Since it became possible to have an electronic Covid Vaxx cert I have been asked for it twice - once at my optometrists and once at Spotlight - do not ask what I was doing at Spotlight - I repeat - do not ask........
Several big stores - BigW and Bunnings - had someone watching to see that people were using the QR doodah - which is totally independent of Vaxx status.
Elsewhere? Nada.

This was all in Albury - which is now a NSW 'hotspot' .

Ping, highlighting part of my sentence to alter the meaning is not a true blue tactic. The full sentence said that I have not come across it in Europe. I have certainly personally come across both discord in families and friendships ending over vaccination issues in Australia.

You must have looked mighty suspicious for Spotlight to want to see your medical records in NSW .

Your certificate will certainly need to be flashed soon in the majority of retail places just over the border in Victoria:

The retail sector will open to all Victorians from 6pm Friday as the state hits the 80% vaccination milestone, regardless of a person’s vaccine status.
But from 24 November, when the state is expected to reach 90% vaccination targets, “vaccinated economy” settings will come into effect, locking out all unvaccinated Victorians eligible to have received the vaccine from the majority of public life
.”

Good to hear you are enjoying some serious sailing - and with good inet . Lucky you.

I am no longer in the world of Mein Fuhrer McGowan (AKA Complete Tosser) and have move to pastures greener yet still full of crocodiles, but will leave them behind soon one day as well.

'Victoria is easing its COVID-19 border restrictions with NSW and the ACT, opening the door for more stranded residents to return home.

From midnight on Wednesday, red zone areas in NSW and the ACT - mainly regional places not in lockdown - will be downgraded to orange zones.

The change will allow both residents and non-residents to enter Victoria as long as they take a test within 72 hours of arrival and wait for a negative result before leaving isolation.'
