Re: The Reality of Living in Australia and Covid

More illuminating than anything ever produced by Leunig is today's New York Times-style infographic on how Aussie pollies get born.

Find it in your local Channel 9 Entertainment rag (such as https://www.smh.com.au/interactive/2...ics/index.html) You can substitute smh with theage or brisbanetimes or whatever turns you on.

Here's the ultimate graphic of the red patch gang vs the blue patchers:

What is the most dangerous virus in the world? And we never vacationed and shut the world down, Can you think of any before this virus , any doctors out there that can explain this question? Is this a test of biological warfare from china? Why not? Possible or not! The Citizens wouldn't know only the government, and they wouldn't tell the truth anyway,

This QUESTION is not only for Australia but from any country around the world, open dialogue for any doctors or scientists? Why not?

I phoned him and reassured him that I was not smuggling drugs and that I had not come from overseas. He seemed happy to take me at my word. (From watching the news, it appears most drug smugglers have newer and bigger boats than mine,)

But he said something in our conversation that was interesting (aside from mentioning that he didn’t have a boat) and that was he really wasn’t concerned with anything to do with Covid quarantine, that was for the local police to manage.

I wonder if that is the same all around Oz?

The two ABF officers who cleared us into Australia at Southport didn’t talk to us or ask us about Covid nor quarantine other than ask us to wear masks (as they were themselves) - they were solely interested in our eligibility to enter Australia and for a control permit.

It was three QLD police officers who were all over us regarding quarantine, helped by Australian Defense Force and local medical staff, all directed by and provided with authority by QLD Health.

ABF is Federal and the States have been handling the covid pandemic. We are a republic of states after all and control our own borders. Its why the majority of states have done very well against covid whilst the nerds developed the vaccines.

A "federation" of states in a constitutional monarchy. The referendum for a change to a republican system some years ago failed.

Judging by the rest of your post I would suggest xenophobia and or stupidity
Whilst technically not a virus it does seem to be on the increase

That one is easy. Rabies. 99.9% fatality rate in humans.

It will be interesting to watch what happens here.

Oz here we come! Fully vaccinated yet positive. Still slogging through the effects but last test was negative so I guess they’ll let us in.

Re: The Reality of Living in Australia and Covid

I think that in the first instance it will be Australian citizens, permanent residents, and immediate family.

I'll let you do your own research on that but some info here

.

Things are looking up all over.
Travel advisories updated today
https://www.smartraveller.gov.au/des...level&sort=asc
Insurance companies willing to cover me for travel to Ecuador - unlimited medical - 75 yo - $Au600 for a month.
Booster shots for all - 6 months after last shot - mine due on Boxing Day

Must be a bit of a bugger being a sandgroper in these exciting times.

Hmm ... does it not ask you to 'reconsider your need to travel' to Ecuador? or Chile?

I was amazed that Singapore, which yesterday had its record high daily new case number of 5,324, is listed as 'exercise a high degree of caution'!!

Yes but..I have reconsidered my need to travel and yes - I need to travel!!

Both of those - ''exercise a high degree of caution' and ''reconsider your need to travel' - place the onus on you . They are not saying you can't go. Biggest risk in Ecuador is banditry on the Colombian border.
Insurance companies are willing to sell insurance.
Ecuador doesn't ask for it but Chile requires 'covid insurance ' or they won't let you in.
