I never said anything was a hoax, simply far too much fear mongering for the facts for my taste.
648,445 deaths,so far and 8000 deaths per day with over a million new cases added every 3 days and rising would be fear mongering if it were not factual.

not sure what point you were trying to make other than trying to dispute that their is a real problem that will sooner or later have an impact on everybodies lives

Death rate is quite low when you factor out people who were already on the razor line of death to start with.

I would welcome my chances with this virus, if I haven’t had it already, far sooner than to live my life in fear, many people enjoy activities for sport that have a much higher risk of death.

Re: Sailing in Times of Covid

Here is a link to a study in Germany showing contagion peaking in the 2 days prior to symptoms appearing. although your point of view is valid, I believe that it misses one of the issues entirely, which is the damage and strain done to hospital staffs when cases cluster too quickly. keeping hospitals at capacity or below is one of the goals of the various strategies for distancing. also, you cannot count on most people staying home when symptoms, especially minor ones begin to show, especially people who are desparate to go to work.

I fully agree with you.
Canada's medical officers have harped continuously that we "have to flatten the curve" so as not to overload the healthcare folks. That is the purpose of "flattening",as well as doing anything else(masks, distancing, etc) that will help reduce the load & not overwhelm public infrastructure.
If an area loses it's infrastructure due to ill employees,it doesn't matter how well the rest of us are.Where are you going to get food, gas, healthcare, etc. Last time I tried,I didn't do very well trying to eat money

Luckily, the majority of Canadians have voluntarily followed these guidelines.I hope we do as well during the coming months.

Cheers/ Len

Re: Sailing in Times of Covid

I would also point out that, as this virus moves through the world — and appears to keep returning to places it has already been — it is mutating. The mutations in some areas appear to target 20-45 year old folks. A bit worrisome. I am not sure if those who were struck hard in this group had underlying issues but, yes, single-handing would work as would cardboard cutout crew members. At least there would be someone to talk to.

Finally a good excuse for buying at catamaran.
Easier to social (physical) distance as long as each hull has a head, a bed and a can-opener.

If you want sound information or advice on any medical issues Cruisers Forum is certainly the best place to get it. After all some of the respondents have actually “studied” the issues (no doubt on Facebook).

Man you can tell who the slaves are. Slaves to fear and lies. Dump your TV and get in shape, clean up your health! It is the inner terrain that gets you, NOT some "attack" from a virus. Think about that the next time you are eating your cake and pasta. You are responsible for YOU, leave me out of your weird orwellian group-think BS. A point 0whatever death rate from other dis-eases, claimed as covid with its higher profit margin for the hospital, and you candy asses want to shut the world down. FO.

The world has changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was is lost.
