No Longer Need a COVID-19 Test to Enter Canada

As of April 1, eligible travellers no longer need a PCR or antigen COVID-19 test to enter Canada
Fully vaccinated travellers no longer need a molecular COVID-19 test (such as a PCR test), or an antigen test, to get into Canada by land, air or water.
A fully vaccinated traveller means you must have received at least two doses of a COVID-19 accepted vaccine or at least one dose of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
You are also considered fully vaccinated if you have had a mix of two accepted COVID-19 vaccines.
You must have had the second dose at least 14 days before entering Canada.
While you no longer need a COVID-19 test, anyone exhibiting symptoms will still not be allowed to cross into Canada.
Anyone entering Canada, including fully vaccinated travellers, must complete a questionnaire on the ArriveCAN app or on the government's website within 72 hours before entering Canada. Travellers will answer a series of questions and must upload digital proof of vaccination in English or French.
ArriveCan ➥ https://www.canada.ca/en/public-heal...arrivecan.html

It is possible Canada could bring back pre-arrival COVID-19 testing, and it has happened before.

The vaccines accepted by Canada for travel are:

AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD (ChAdOx1-S, Vaxzevria, AZD1222).
Bharat Biotech (Covaxin, BBV152 A, B, C).
Janssen/Johnson & Johnson.
Moderna (Spikevax, mRNA-1273) including for children 6 to 11 years old.
Novavax (NVX-COV2373, Nuvaxovid, Covovax).
Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty, tozinameran, BNT162b2) including for children 5 to 11.
Sinopharm BIBP (BBIBP-CorV).
Sinovac (CoronaVac, PiCoVacc).

Not positive, but pretty sure you are not allowed entry.

Re: No Longer Need a COVID-19 Test to Enter Canada

Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated Canadian travellers must still get tested.
They'll get a molecular test on arrival and on the eighth day after arrival. These travellers must quarantine for 14 days — regardless of their test results during that period.
The Canadian government has outlined three accepted types of test and that specific conditions that apply to each.
Children under five years old do not need a pre-entry test.

Generally speaking, unvaccinated foreign nationals are not allowed to travel to Canada. There are some very limited exceptions.

It’s been 6 months now, but wife and I went to Niagara Falls. Everywhere you went you had to show your vaccine card. Couldn’t even go in McDonalds without one.

Oh well, as Groucho used to say - "I wouldn't want to join a club which would have me as a member".

Forgot…not only did we have to show our vac card, had to have a picture ID to go with it and had to sign a log in sheet with our name and phone number. Canada takes covid very seriously.

Fantastic!! Been missing this country. It’s such a nice break from the usual American life and so conveniently located.

Some humor about us coming:

The guy in the blue is Canada. I’m in the yellow. Just substitute “Florida” for Ontario or Quebec and insert some Canadian activities.

If fact, change the whole dialogue, but the spirit is the same. Ha ha ha.

Just watched "Don't Look Up!" Sure seems insightful.

Canada is heading into yet another wave of Covid-19. Hopefully immunity levels are high enough. And thankfully we're heading into the warm months, so we can all be outdoors more. But this virus ain't done with us... even if we're done with it.

Aw, damn. I had thought you all were on the same path the States are currently. I see PEI has exploded. Quebec is looking a bit rough too. And some northern provinces are bad.

Hope it’s due to winter and gets knocked down in the warmer outside weather

Re: No Longer Need a COVID-19 Test to Enter Canada

Vaccinated travellers may not be entirely off the hook, for the test requirement, if they're travelling with unvaccinated children. That's because unvaccinated [or partially vaccinated] people, over age four, must still show proof of a negative antigen [or molecular] test, to enter Canada.

Although they no longer have to worry about taking a pre-entry test, vaccinated travellers may be randomly selected, to take a COVID-19 test, upon arrival, but there’s no need to quarantine, while you're awaiting your results.
However, those who test positive, must comply with federal rules, and isolate for 10 days — even if they're in a province which has reduced the isolation period to five days, for people infected with COVID-19.

Re: No Longer Need a COVID-19 Test to Enter Canada

I am transiting Canada in 3 days en-route to the Caribbean. I was going to get my COVID-19 test this morning and checked the rules again for Canada and for St. Lucia and was pleasantly surprised to see that vaccinated travellers no longer need to get tested as of April 01 and 04. Finally some good news.

Indeed.

SAINT LUCIA ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: effective 2 April 2022

There is no requirement for pre-travel test or quarantine for fully vaccinated* travellers, to St. Lucia. Fully vaccinated travellers must provide a valid vaccination record.

*Fully vaccinated means two weeks has passed since the second dose of a two-dose vaccine, or since a single-dose vaccine. Vaccine proof must be presented on entry to Saint Lucia.

Unvaccinated Travellers:
Unvaccinated travellers aged 5 years and older must have a valid negative Standard COVID-19 PCR test done within 5 days prior to arrival.

ALL Travellers:
The Health Screening Form should be downloaded and printed, and must completed before disembarkation in Saint Lucia for ease of processing on arrival.
