There is no "zero risk".

Stay at home.

I'm not a denier, I swear. I'm staying in.

People will be going back to work at some point this summer, after the peak but while the infection risk is nearly or about what it is now. The economy and their empty wallets will demand it. Even now, a large portion of the population works every day, at jobs required to keep the rest of us comfortable staying at home. I'm not sayin' whether this is good or bad, I'm just sayin' it will happen, like the weatherman predicting rain.

I'm guessing there won't be an "all clear" for a very long time. Waves of infection will slosh back and forth across the world for a year or more. More likely, the stay-at-home orders will taper off, but we will still be encouraged to social distance. It will be interesting to see what that looks like. People forget. People will weary of the message.

The part of stay that has extremely dubious exceptions inserted for the benefit of industry lobbyists or political friends. It's OK to ignore stay in Maryland to get on head boat to go fishing. It's OK in California to go to work if you work in construction. Really? 10 or 50 or 100 construction workers, side-by-side, sharing 3 Porta-Johns that get cleaned once a week and have a foot-pump hand washing station that is so gross no one ever uses it? Can't think of a better way to spread a disease. If anyone wants us to not question stay when I can demonstrably get out and about with very close to zero additional risk to myself or anyone else then they need to stop pandering to political interests with their stay orders.

Yeah, unfortunately we may be closer to the 7/10 that means we extend the crisis, instead of the 8/10 that we need to flatten the curve.

Too much exception, not enough rule. Not enough easy testing. Too many folks who think they're exceptions or invincible. Not the complete shutdown we need. We're still playing from behind. We'll get there, but there will be more pain first.

Bill Gates has an excellent grip on what we need to do. Sadly, we're not doing it. Means a steeper curve, and sadly, more deaths. Also, longer before businesses can successfully re-open.

Florida count now: 7717 confirmed positives, 1,058 hospital admissions, 128 deaths.

Re: Maryland Bans Recreational Boating for the Duration

As a live aboard cruiser staying in Dominica I can assure anyone here MY stay is a whole lot stricter than your stay.

And should I NEED to come back to the USA I will surely be making great leaps backwards in my personal safety and protection. Many of us here are appalled at the General USA attitude towards isolation.

I don’t need lectures from some arm chair about what “stay” means. Way too much of the “Master” talking to a dog for my liking.

Everyone’s view of the world is informed by their personal view point. For far too many it is their ONLY view point.

So, given that what is occurring here in the US does not effect or apply to you, what then was the point of your original post, just to prove you're a troll?

You obviously don't understand the intent of "stay-at-home".

Brings some well-known aphorisms to mind:
It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble. It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.
When I was younger I could remember anything, whether it happened or not; but I am getting old, and soon I shall remember only the latter.
It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.

There is really no question. Boat is home, stay on boat. Follow quarantine / lockdown protocols as established by the jurisdiction the boat is located. Limit travel to essential travel only, e.g., dinghy to shore to obtain requisite provisions [food, medicine], then return to boat; maintain proper social distancing.

Godspeed.

Actually, I do understand the intent of "stay-at-home". The intent is to reduce the risk that I will a) transmit the Covid-19 virus to others outside my immediate living arrangement if I have it and am infectious, or b) receive the virus from others outside my immediate living arrangement.

There is absolutely no reason I can't meet the intent while being outside my home. And going sailing on my own boat by myself or with my immediate living arrangement members is lower risk than the allowed activities of shopping, etc. And certainly lower risk than the exceptions in the stay-at-home orders.

I suggest you stop posting in this thread, you seem out of control, trying to force your pov on others without recognizing it is futile.
