Interesting sailing youtube channels to watch boats by.

I have not found a thread about this subject that I think will become quite popular in the coming weeks. Personally I am stuck in Australia for the moment with a flight booked on wed 25 back to Europe.

There is a thread about films to stream when confined home, but I have not found something specific about youtube, for filling your confinement time.
Going on the water is an offence in France.

Some of the channels I would like to mention here:
  • Sailing SV Delos, well known by most, sailing around the world in an Amel Super Maramu

Tally Ho, restauration of a 108 years old yacht that once won the Fastnet. Leo is an amazing hard working and very inventif young brit

Adventures of on old seadog, old guy sailing solo around the world

Sailing La Vagabonde, an young Australian ocean crossing couple on a cat
    ............

Here is a list of most popular channels, but I wanted to list my preferred ones.

Stay safe stay inside.

Iíve been following this guy (Bruce) who is building his sailboat in steel (a Van de Stadt design) in his own home. Mistress of Freedom, fun to watch. He has great workmanship skills. https://youtu.be/YHNhJXpm5g0

For Catamarans check out The O'Kellys and Gone with the Wynns. Both have good content to share. And photography from Gone with the Wynns is EXCEPTIONAL. They aren't cruising now, but go back and check out episodes from the South Pacific. The O'Kellys are super neat, down to earth and in the Exumas (kind of stuck) and are really up to date on their videos.
Have fun?!

Not too sure who comprised this list, but they seem to have their head stuck in the sand. No mention at all of Rick Moore (the original You Tuber) or sailing Nandji (who have their own So. African Tv show - even though they're from Oz) Not to mention the O'Kellys.

And what about us? I know we are not fun channels with perhaps too much technical information, but we are posting lately a bit more cruising stuff :-)

My absolute favourite would be Keep Turning Left. Dylan is the only channel I've actually given financial support to. His abilities in story telling were the best. Many others including my latest one which has Arctic in the title but can't remember the rest. Young guy that sails Norway and ventures above the circle and skiing. Also like Patrick Laine for his unpretentious approach and his desire to just go by himself in a mass produced boat to places all the pundits say would require much more. Arctic guy also uses mass produced in the ice.

The only one I watch that hasn't been mentioned is Sailing Uma. Their early videos, before they even got the boat in the water, were really interesting. That couple is not afraid to get dirt under their nails.

Re: Interesting sailing youtube channels to watch boats by.

Of course Delos, been watching them for about 8 years? Enthusiastic second on Wynns, O'Kellys, and Sailing Ran is a must! Ruby Rose is another fun one. A bit burned out on La Vag, but we still watch them sooner or later because their baby is just too cute!

Zatara is another great channel, nice to see a family cruising together.
With any of these channels, I recommend starting with their first video. Most of them will have you hooked by the end of their second, if not, move on.

Exception might be Gone With the Wynns, because they started their channel when they were RV touring. So if you don't care about the RV stuff, watch from when they start to shop for a boat.

Another channel with a tiny audience is Cruising Lealea. They've been across the Pacific four times in their Albin Vega 27, those are well worth watching.

I support six sailing channels via Patreon, I know how much work it is to produce a not only watchable, but entertaining and often informative video, especially doing it several times a month.
