Exactly, why why the cries for a "passport"-? waste of time, energy and false sense of security. We need to move on and learn to live with it. See if they can figure out how to remove all the germs on earth?

Some people wearing life jackets drown. So I won’t wear a life jacket.

Of course Ford is going to sling mud. He needs someone to blame for the cockups in his province. Funny how the guy will claim provincial sovereignty when it's convenient but the very opposite when it actually is but the blame needs shifting.

Why do people like you spread lies .
Any cursory survey of the state of the research shows this is not the case. Immunity certainly does prevent spread; immunity gained through the vaccine or by previous infection. What it doesn't do is prevent new infection, or spread, 100% of the time. But it certainly goes a long way to preventing new infections and spreading the disease.
To you folks who keep spreading this lie, let me ask you, how do you think a virus works? How do you think it spreads? Here's a little primer:
For a virus to live and spread it must infect a living cell. The vaccines do an amazing job at stimulating the immune system to prevent this. Natural immunity is less refined, but also works.
If a virus cannot infect a living cell it cannot replicate and cannot spread. The virus dies off without spreading.
All this bafflegab about the vaccines not protecting others is utter BS. If you truly believe this, then get out of your tiny little information silo and read some credible news and science sources. You'll be amazed what the real world has to say about all this stuff.

Thank you, Mike, for a healthy dose of reality.
This is almost as bad as the Jeopardy Contestants' Facebook bafflegab.

Mike - Are you familiar with Robert Heinlein's famous "Never attempt to teach a pig to sing...."? It's not going to work my friend.

I know... and I've counselled others with your wise advice . I know it's a waste of bytes, and normally I can ignore these folks -- but not today. Today I'm offering singing lessons .
Or maybe I just need more coffee .

Some (very few) who get the vaccine get sick - so I won't get the vaccine. Same logic.
(Just saying. I'm a HUGE believer in vaccines).

I’ve lost two family members to it. It was rather more than a fever for a couple days. Glad you had a light case.

The minister was at pains to point our that OBVIOUSLY the Federal Government has the power to issue a directive to Canada Customs and Border Agency containing whatever the Cabinet considers appropriate, including specific conditions to be met by all persons entering Canada. He was ALSO at pains to point out that once a traveller is IN Canada, that traveller, regardless on the colour of his passport, will be subject to PROVINCIAL health regulations, some of which preclude inter-provincial and inter-territorial travel. He was at further pains to point out that "federal help" will only be given when asked for by a province or a territory, and that terms for such help will have to be negotiated on a case-by-case basis. Could be a long process :-)!
Thus, in B.C., if Auntie Bonnie (Provincial Chief Medical Officer) sez "self-isolate for fourteen days", then that is what the traveller must do. At his own expense. Should he demur, the police authorities at Ports of Entry may issue tickets ("citations" I believe Americans call them) that can lead to quite substantial fines.
Americans should also note that in BC there are "unceded territories" (NOT the same as "indian reservations") where the chiefs of the indigenous peoples that anciently resided in those territories may, and sometimes do, refuse entry to non-indigenous people. There is NO federal or provincial countervail to that! This has significance for anyone wishing to visit e.g. Haida Gwaii. I'm not sure how the chiefs at, say, Alert Bay feel about it just now.
In addition to all that, for the time being Auntie Bonnie has ruled (and issued an Order) that travel between "Health Regions" is not permissible. Thus, because I am in the Fraser Health Region, and TP is berthed in the Vancouver Island Health Region. I do not, for the time being, have access to her.
So "opening the border" is nothing so simple as issuing an "Executive Order."

I don't write the news, I watch it on television. They have specifically reported what they called * break through* cases where fully vaccinated people contracted covid 19 and became deathly ill. They also state that vaccinated persons who are exposed usually have little or no symptoms and are over the infection in a few days...make no mistake they are classified as infected.
Calling me a liar for repeating a mainstream media news report during a relevant conversation is childish and rude. If the reports are a lie...it's the news media reporting it.

You of course didn't include a link, but I'm pretty sure that the mainstream media did not say "[vaccination] does nothing to mitigate the spread. Ie: protects you, endangers others who have not had vaccine". This is not true.
Let's be generous and just say that you misunderstand, then.
