So here we are ... fully vaccinated, tests & forms all sorted etc, 3 months free from
work to cross the pond (we're Dutch) and
cruise the UK
East Coast and maybe
Scotland. Yay us, right?
The UK Covid rules state we must quarantine on arrival, and spend a couple of hundred punds on mandatory Covid tests before we're allowed off the
boat. Fine, those are the rules, vaccinated or not, and we're more than willing to follow the rules and read a bunch of
books while staying in a marina.
Sadly, we haven't been able to find a
single marina willing or able to rent us a berth for the mandatory period (6-11 days). They're either at capacity or not accepting non-UK vessels.
Obviously we started asking around earlier, but were advised to contact them when we had an ETA to reserve a slip. Now have that, and they're all sorry but no room / no foreign
boats
We did read about vaccinated people no longer needing to quarantine this summer, but no date or other information is available so we're very doubtful it's happening any day soon.
Has anyone with a non-UK vessel been able to enter and
cruise the UK recently? And if so, are there
marinas to stay at every now and again?
Any tips, advise and information much appreciated!
