Galveston Bay? What's the scoop?

I can go to the mall. I can go to Wal Mart, bars, movie theaters, gyms, crowded grocery stores, etc.

But I went out to my boat in Kemah and it's a complete ghost town. NOBODY. Not on the bay, not on Clear Lake, not in the marina.

I searched and searched. Could not find anything that says I cant go on my sailboat. Only saw something about commercial fishing operations are not allowed.

What's the scoop? Recreational boating is still restricted? Is it a State thing or Galveston County?

When did you go to your boat? I have been sailing the GBay out of Kemah for past 4 weekends and it is always packed. Not so sure about weekdays. No restrictions on the water.

It's perfectly fine to go sailing out of Kemah and into the Bay. I was there the 9th / 10th and apart from some times of strong winds, boats were out all over the place.

I was out there last Thursday. Nobody anywhere. Winds did not seem bad. I was a bit surprised to see nobody anywhere. I had not been there in a couple weeks so was not sure what the situation was. I just know I showed up and it was a ghost town.

Iím always surprised by the lack of boats out on any given weekday here, no matter Covid or not.

I'm always surprised by people who ask questions like this without looking at their own State's or county websites.

The weekdays here are always empty. But there are no restrictions in place at all.

I can't speak for others, but Waterford Marina is open; baths, laundry, and restaurant.

Your always surprised indicates it’s happened more than 2 or 3 times. I’m surprised your still surprised, seems like by now you might have caught on and take it in stride.

No restrictions. Been sailing on the bay throughout the whole COVID thing. A few marinas were closed (very) briefly in late March, but have been back open now for quite a while.
