Re: For gods sake - Get vaccinated

I'm okay with folks not getting vaccinated.

What I'm not okay with is them taking away valuable medical resources from everyone else when they do get sick.

Don't want to get vaccinated? Fair enough. If you get sick, sit at home until you get better.

There is so much wrong with the majority of the comments here to list and it isn’t the place to try.

Grow up people!
How 'qualified' does one have to be?

Any reasonably-average 5 year old can answer the question.

Providing they haven't been previously brainwashed by their parents misconceptions.

Weekly average 227 deaths per day. From what I could see browsing around, Florida had the highest total deaths of any US state lately, but not the highest deaths per capita.

As has already been shown, Florida is 22nd among 50 in terms of infection rate increase. It’s a troll post to imply anything more or worse but seems common among certain political types to cite totals (rather than cases per unit population) which wildly distorts the picture.

The real question should be - where is the infection rate growing the fastest - Florida isn’t in the top 20.

.
Do you routinely obtain medical advice from a 5 year old or are you implying it’s okay to do so only for pandemics?

I think getting vaccinated is a good idea for those who can, but this statement is just not at all true. Death rate right now is way less than it was at the end of July of last year.

And yet every day we get more reports of people who have been jabbed and then test positive.

Talk about dumb..........

That's as may be.. however I cannot find total deaths for a week from all causes not just Covid..
In England and Wales the last weeks tally had only 5.5% out of over 10,000 dying with Covid.. 227/day may seem high taken on its own, but...

Florida is currently #6 in cases per capita
. Rhode Island is currently #1... but the population of RI is like a million, and FL is 21 million? Do the math...

I appreciate the desire to defend one's home turf... but there is nothing remotely good (or less bad) about the current COVID rate in Florida.

Re: For gods sake - Get vaccinated

It will get very interesting when all of these cruise lines requiring vax, have 25% of their passengers testing positive and have to wait offshore for two weeks to return to port........

All this while Florida is the retirement state filled with old people.

Your data doesn't change the point of the OP.

That is not how we should measure success at this point. You are 29 times more likely to be hospitalizd if not vaccinated! and 98% of those who have died from COVIDS since the vaccine came out were unvaxxed.

Re: For gods sake - Get vaccinated

Media may not give accurate findings but I will encourage you to talk to a practicing healthcare worker you know and ask them what’s happening at their work place. I have attached 2 health systems’ flowchart that I obtained from friends, it is like this everywhere, do your own research and I am sure you will come to the same conclusion. It’s not that vaccinated people are not getting COVID, they are, but they are not getting as sick as unvaccinated individuals. It is not uncommon for unvaccinated patients to request a vaccine when they feel short of breath but it’s already too late for them. Please, do your part and get vaccinated, we can’t beat this disease if we are divided like this.

-an ICU physician who got fully vaccinated in early January
