Are there any ways that I can prove to Captains that I am corona virus free? If possible, I would like to seek opportunities on serving as crew.

Short answer is no.

Detection of the SARS-Cov2 virus requires an oropharyngeal(OP) or nasopharyngeal(NP) swab test. Abbot has just released an FDA approved molecular test that can return results within 5 minutes providing you have the Abbot ID NOW machine.

The serological (finger-prick blood) tests detect antibodies and may give false-negatives if you've recently been infected but have not yet developed antibodies in your system.

The problem is, Time Theory, that while you can show that you did not have it one day, you cannot prove that you have not been infected and are now not incubating the corona virus and asymptomatic.

I think it's going to be quite a while till someone will feel comfortable to take a stranger sailing. Nobody wants to run the risks of what this virus can do in isolated cases, throughout the age range, not just elders.

wow, we are all social distancing in the UK so i'm surprised you guys are able to be with each other, especially so close. This thing is killing us at a rate of around 800 a day at the moment (that's just hospital deaths) so do you really want to risk it anyway?

Here in Washington State we are only allowed to sail with immediate family, no extended family or friends, no raft ups.

From what I've heard, everyone is being exceptionally compliant with these rules. We just came off a run of 10 sunny days with temps in the low 60'sF which is very unusual for this time of year so lots went out.

I imagine as warmer weather hits, defiance will go up.

You can come pretty close to proving that none of the crew has SARS-CoV-2, but it takes 14 days.
Get the crew on board in a place where medical care is available if needed, and wait 14 days without going ashore. If nobody gets sick, then you are OK to sail.
This is exactly my plan for the passage from the Lesser Antilles to the USA.

Actually, I learned from a Crewing website that due to the start of Hurricane Season, people were in the process of moving their vessels North (USA East Coast).

Next week, the Governor of our State will open beaches, retail establishments, book stores, and music stores. Even though the cases of the virus in our area Increase, he still plans to proceed. In my opinion it is Way To Soon!!

My question relates to a very distance future date that I would like to crew. I would think that even when things return to "Normal", this question will be asked.

For me and my family, no matter what the Govenor does, we stay at home and only go out for food commodities.

Yes that is a method, but it also could lead to everyone onboard having Covid-19. A roll of the dice.

Your proposed scheme could allow for an outbreak before departure instead during the sojourn which may avail access to medical assistance at the site the crew was self-isolating and could mitigate the potential of a crew being incapacitated by illness during the sojourn.

In Puerto Rico, the emergency orders presently specifically prohibit the onboarding of any new crew or passengers aboard any boat. Stay at Home is a rather straightforward proposition.

Most jurisdictions require self-isolation for 14 days upon arrival or entry so one tages on two periods of 14 days, 28 days total. No credit is generally allowed for the period of time of the sojourn as to reducing the 14 day self-isolation period upon arrival / entry.

Most sane people [i.e., non-Covidiots] would not wish to risk exposure to self or others of a hazardous virus by boarding a boat with persons they have not been previously cohabitating with, nor would most sane people desire to spend 18 days at anchor not being able to disembark their vessel.

A more accurate statement would be, 'it could lead to everyone onboard being exposed & test positive for SARS-COV2.'

Statistically speaking, less than ~80% of people who test positive for SARS-COV2 will develop Covid-19.
