Can't figure out whether you're trollin' now or a true believer in this anti-vax BS storm.

If you've read your Darwin, you'd know that with more susceptable hosts, the more opportunity for mutations to occur... and for the more successful mutations to spread. Immunity reduces the spread of COVID, and therefore reduces the opportunities for variants to appear and spread.

So make up something more plausible, at least.

Not true, as reported in the media. While the old variant is curbed by the vaccine, mutations occure to fight it. The virus searches for a new niche to circumvent the immune response, some mutations are better than other, survive and spread by supressing and outnumbering the old variant - survival of the fittest.

It is what we see with the UK variant, and now new are comming up, more resistent one in Chile for example.

Poe's law: it is impossible to create a parody of extreme views so obviously exaggerated that it cannot be mistaken by some readers for a sincere expression of the views being parodied.

Your description ascribes agency to the virus, or at least a sort of hormetic property to the vaccine. It is about as off-the-mark as an earlier post that talked about a "broad band" response.

A targeted immune response against a conserved protein will be far more effective against mutation than a scatter-shot approach that ends up targeting hypervariable regions and providing only short-term protection. This is why the flu vaccine is refreshed each year; those memorized patterns will be useless after a rearrangement of surface antigens effects a costume change.

The virus will mutate at a particular rate per generation, and thus by volume at a greater rate in an un-vaccinated population as the environment is more permissive. Allowing it to run rampant is like letting a brush fire burn through a town rather than trying to fight it with firebreaks and back fires. People of all ages have been hospitalized, and have died, from it. That the elderly and those in poor health have been disproportionately effected does not change this, nor is dying the only adverse outcome possible.

As for using the risk of new variants as an argument against vaccination, that is not a valid justification for inaction, it's a rhetorical device right of out of Umberto Eco's elements of ur-fascism: "the enemy is simultaneously strong and weak."

Actually, it's "news".

FWIW: The official name of the BV-1 variant is hCoV-19/USA/TX-GHRC-BV1-EQ4526591/2021.

Researchers, from Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center and Carmel Medical Center in Haifa, found the risk of developing herpes zoster, also known as shingles, likely increases for patients with autoimmune inflammatory rheumatic diseases (AIIRD).
The study [1] identified six individuals who developed a rash, known as herpes zoster, after receiving the Pfizer vaccine. Five developed the rash after their first dose of the vaccination, and the sixth developed it after the second dose.
The potential risk still remains relatively small as only 1.2% of the 491 patients looked at by researchers actually developed the infection.
Lead researcher Dr. Victoria Furer also told the Jerusalem Post that the Pfizer vaccine cannot be looked at as the sure “cause” of the infections.
“We cannot say the vaccine is the cause at this point,” she said. “We can say it might be a trigger in some patients.”
She said one practical implication might be to recommend that AIIRD patients get vaccinated against HZ before getting their COVID-19 vaccination to reduce the risk.
“We should not scare people,” she continued. “The overall message is to get vaccinated. It is just important to be aware.”

[1] “Herpes zoster* following BNT162b2 mRNA Covid-19 vaccination in patients with autoimmune inflammatory rheumatic diseases: a case series” ~ by Victoria Furer et al
“Conclusion: Epidemiologic studies on the safety of the mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines in patients with AIIRD are needed to clarify the association between the BNT162b2 mRNA vaccination and reactivation of zoster.”
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33848321/

* Herpes Zoster (shingles) is caused by reactivation of varicella-zoster virus (VZV), that has remained dormant within dorsal root ganglia, often for decades after the patient’s initial exposure to the virus, in the form of varicella (chickenpox).

Your ignorance is painful. The more cases, the more chances to mutate. Mutations that convey some survival or reproduction advantage will survive and sometimes become the dominant variant... and they can do so more quickly if there's lots of susceptable hosts to infect.

Vaccines:
  1. greatly lower the number and severity of serious and long-lasting infections, thereby reducing the chances for mutations to develop and survive
  2. have so far proven to offer at least some protection against the known variants.
So claiming that vaccination promotes variants is both foolish and dangerous. It's also wrong, but that fact has never seemed to concern you.

And shingles is the activation of a virus that was left behind after a case of chickenpox. You don't "catch" it.

As long as you praise the gen therapy, I would oppose it, as simple as that.

You want to experimental shot billions of people, that are very unlikely to get severe ill from the virus risking long term health issues to save a few vulnerable.

Every case of vaccine damage is collateral damage and neglectible for the greater good, but when someone says, a covid death is collateral - you freak out. We are still at a natural survival rate of over 99%. this means 99% of the population are risking unnecessary severe health problems from the so called vaccines - without a benefit for them.

You cannot eradicate the virus, the "vaccines" do not protect from an infection, nor from infecting others. And the variants will spread, because you cannot inoculate 7 billion people at the same time. So you will have your refresher shots yearly or every 6 months, like a drug addicted, and you will ruin your natural immune system.

I am not buying in in your logic, as it is very flawed. My risk assesion is, most people are better off not participating in this vax ordeal.

Who feels vulnerable, should take his shot and following medication, for sure - but not healthy person and no young people who want to built a family.

FYI, there is an ignore option on the CF for specific members that post items of "painful ignorance".

Just click on the poster's name to the left of their post, scroll down and click ignore that person.

Pain resolved.

Survival and severe health problems are two separate things; this is not comparing like-for-like. Decisions around drug approvals and authorizations are at their heart based on a risk-benefit trade-off; does the new treatment offer greater safety & efficacy compared to the alternatives?

If one considered, for example, the J&J or the AZ vaccines on their own, the benefit against the virus would argue for approval. But if it offered similar effectiveness but with a worse safety profile compared to an already-available vaccine, perhaps it wouldn't be approved. That the competing vaccines are still new and supply is limited, means that different health authorities are even more likely to be split on their approach.

That 99% you mention is also risking unnecessary severe health problems from the virus; an overactive immune response can have terrible effects. To use an investing analogy, vaccination is akin to using stop-losses on your trades; you can let the winners run, but the losses are limited. If you think 99% are safe from the virus, then by the same reasoning over 99% would be safe from the vaccine as well. Your argument is predicated on using contradictory approaches to evaluate the two.

UFO; truly an unfortunate health situation for this 12 yo discussed on the video you post. The narrator's claims of vaccine-related injury from a facebook post is about as far from a definitive diagnosis as one can possibly get. Is it possible?....or probable? that is what the study is designed to determine in concert with efficacy of the vaccine. And this cannot be done so via FB...Lastly, the narrator paints healthcare prof with a common brush, "...this is a frequent tactic, telling parents/children, its all in your head..." and then proceeds to say they have found an excellent group of doctors who are working up the 12yo thru a differential diagnosis! Next we'll be discussing how the HPV vaccine promotes promiscuity??!! thnks
