OK, I'll bite: LUCK.

You'll need a lot of it.

Except there is a great difference between politics and public service and PUBLIC HEALTH. It certainly works for the anti-maskers, doesn't it.

That is claptrap when it comes to public health. Do you really want some biker from Sturgis to come and sneeze on you or your family?

I shorted the sh!t out of the airlines also.....

But I’m presently in Blackfish Sound on the central coast of B.C. waiting out the pandemic, watching many US flagged vessels going north to Alaska, seeing them stop for days around me, wishing they were all turned back at the border.....I do see the odd one with their AIS turned off.

Let’s keep in mind Canada is way smaller country in terms of population than the US, more rural and, in many locations like mine (Alberta), a bit backward compared to cosmopolitan areas. Also Canadians are in general less reactive and tend to peacefully accept political measures than the US with a very strong tradition of individual freedoms and somehow aggressive (in a positive way) individualistic values. Yep, we are different in several points.
Agree in general, but with regard to urban/rural, Canada and the USA are virtually identical. It depends on how you define rural and urban of course. By some measures Canada is more urban than the USA. Basically, all of us live in less than a dozen large cities. This is in contrast to the USA which has a much more dispersed population.

The number of big urban areas in Canada is significantly low compared to the USA. We have a larger number of mid to small size cities though but very rural in mentality and resources. Even here, in Edmonton, in 15 minutes drive you are out into an open rural area. I live just 100 km from Edmonton and it is totally rural here.

Re: CANADIAN COVID-19 NEWS

Are you sure Canada has a handle on Covid?

https://www.canada.ca/en/public-heal...ection.html#a1

Canada Covid mortality rate is 7.44%.
US mortality rate: 3.19%

Keep up the good work.

Me too.

I have some hope for September if there is no increase in negativity towards tourists and I can figure out a way to work remotely. I'm watching BC's numbers closely and start cringing every time the numbers bump. It's why the topic of Americans in Canada makes me sensitive...anything that impacts my future travel plans is a definite sore spot.
