^^^^^^

Good grief! The lack of communication between ostensibly competent gov organizations is kinda breathtaking, the finger pointing hilarious and the ramifications ominous.

What next with the gradual return to normalcy?

Re: Australian quarantine equality?

Well Vic borders aren't closed, just getting around in Vic or out of Vic is the issue normally.
However as a Victorian who has been doing all the right things for months the only problem I see is the Transit one; NZ is no problem, but the Airports, planes etc, I can see potential issues with, given what we now know about how long the virus can last on surfaces (like rubbish bin lids etc) and how incredibly contagious it can be.

Jim, the lack of communication in the same departments is incredible.

I recieved an email last night telling me I was free to leave home quarantine! One,, I was never in "home quarantine " and two, I left my motel cell quarantine well over a week ago.

I've also recieved two phone calls since leaving quarantine asking me about my emotional health due to still being in quarantine....the whole thing is a rock show.

OMG even after making all that noise!
Given that the virus can be treated at the very least, as a fire drill for possible future deadlier pandemics, we can only hope that eventually some expensive commission will get involved to look at what has been going on, nationally, and how we can rectify for the future.

I for one think that Mr Andrews and team are doing a truly superb job,........of demonstrating that politicians in this country WILL NOT be outdone by any other half assed incompetent from over there or anywhere.

Wait until Desperate Dan tries to send them back to NSW and NSW won't take them back...

They will be wandering the empty departure lounges at Tulla 'til the end of their days ..

Watch this space!

Re: Australian quarantine equality?

Question for the Victorians - is the Victorian border closed to incoming Aussies (i.e. non Victorian residents from other Aussie states)?

I have assumed it isn't and if that is so, then presumably it isn't closed to anyone already in Australia.

?????

Victoria is wide open to people from within Australia ..regardless of nationality.. even Melbourne... I can go to Melbourne tomorrow if I so choose... may not get out again.

It is closed to international arrivals but... if you have cleared customs and immigration at Sydney airport you are no longer an 'international arrival'..... you are just another foreigner in Sydney....

The only difference is that these Unzuders were 'quarantine exempt' on arrival.
Is someone who has done their time in quarantine ... Dale for instance... not allowed to go to Vic 'cos they are an 'international arrival'.? When do you cease to be be thus classified??
