Re: Sourcing Winston Lithium batteries, Canada, USA.

Hi Andy.
Thanks for your interest.

We have 1120 watts of solar, 560 on each side of the pilothouse roof. We plan on installing 550w on the davits, before we install the mast and sails. This will be to help counter the shade, from the rig, on the array. We are mastless, until next year.

Cheers.
Paul.

Re: Sourcing Winston Lithium batteries, Canada, USA.

Thanks for the info Paul.
I have 450W in my array, pretty well maxing out my available real estate on my monohull. Being fully rigged, portions of my array are subject to shading. The best I have ever achieved is about 250W harvested at high noon during late summer months. My daily production maxes at about 80 AmpHrs, but I average a little more than 1/2 that amount. It has been cloudy recently so my wind generator has come in handy during blustery periods.
Good luck on your rigging project.

Re: Sourcing Winston Lithium batteries, Canada, USA.

Hi Andy.

Our monohull had 300w solar. It was enough to live with, but we had a more simple boat than we do now. We could survive at anchor, but would come up short underway.

Lithium would have helped us with longer periods of cloud, and also underway, but the amps have to, eventually, be replenished, no matter what.

Thanks for your contribution.

Paul.
