Small LFP battery charger

Looking for recommendation for a small 10a 12V system LFP battery charger. This is just a charger for when there has not been enough sun for days for the main solar to provide for the freezer and refrigerator. I don't even want it to fully charge the batteries so really want one the the setpoint could be set at like 13.1V.

A quick web search gets lots small charger that would maintain batteries at 100&, but I don't want that. Instead of reading a bunch of specs I thought someone would just know of one.

No one? Are people just leaving their LFPs on a charger at 100% instead?

You are looking for a battery charger, the engineers that designed them can't fathom not fully charging your battery's.

For LI you just need a power supply. Set it where you want but not above 13.8 volts and your batteries will last 15+ years.

I have one like this: https://www.amazon.com/NICE-POWER-Ad...39&sr=8-3&th=1

Re: Small LFP battery charger

You have a few options. The cheapest LPF chargers are hardwired to 14.7V, and if you are lucky will turn off once fully charged in case you forget to unplug it, but probably won't. Then, there is a decent price jump to get a "smart" charger that is programmable.
Or, you can go with a power supply. I would not get one that is so easily adjustable that you bump the controls and overcharge your battery. There is also a huge range of quality and voltage regulation in power supplies. I would shy away from the cheap ones. A PS is also definitely not going to turn off at full charge (or whatever you set it to). That might be what you want.

I have tried a few power supplies, and use a 90A Power supply under close supervision when I need to charge quickly. Not at all efficient, at 60A output it will trip the 15A AC circuit breaker. I also have a 10A supply as pictured, and it's tough to get 10A out of it. Heavy wires, with a voltage meter right on the battery instead of the built in, and crank the voltage up really high watching the external meter, and you can get there, but you need to constantly monitor it and adjust the voltage. Or, live with only 5A average instead of 10. So, I would pass on that.

If it were me, I would get something like the lower end of Victron chargers.
The "smart" versions like Victron Smart IP65 12-Volt 10 amp Battery Charger have an LFP mode that will charge to 14.2 volts, with a "storage" feature that only charges to 13.5 V. It can also be set as a power supply where you set any voltage you want.

If you have any other victron gear, you can add any victron product in Demo mode in the app to see the features it supports.

Re: Small LFP battery charger

Got it, an adjustable power supply. When I searched that instead of a battery charger I got what I wanted without a high price.
