Limiting Alternator Charging LiFePO4 Below Freezing

One concern I have with the Balmar MC-614 alt regulator is its inability to stop charging a LiFePO4 pack if its below a threshold value (ie. 0C) and therefore causing severe damage to the pack.

One workaround I can think of, is using a thermostat switch (ie. https://www.amazon.ca/MonkeyJack-Tem...rmostat+switch) reading the battery pack temperature and opening the regulator field wire if it ever gets below 0C.

Can any of you see any potential issues with this? Or have found any other workarounds?

Thanks,

Luke

Fine but open the reg ign wire. Brown. Not the feild.

Most thermostats would be backwards. You'd have to find right one. (Did not open link)
