I have to admit that I did not know that Amazon, and I presume other US unspecialized vendors, are selling
LiFePO4 batteries from stock. I found this cell

on Amazon just now. I just read the thread that came in this week's digest about another situation. So I did a search and found the same Sinopoly cells, in stock, at a very similar
price that I paid 4 years ago. I had to order them through a Canadian EV company and it took over 4 months to get them and I had to prepay.
These cells are $108 each which would be $1728 plus a quoted $625
shipping to my address in WA state. I paid over $2500 for mine plus a lot of miscellaneous costs.
The market is becoming much more mature now. I just
sold my
boat and my fear that the tech would put off many buyers was only partially true. The idea of them is becoming more and more mainstream even for the hyper-cautious cruiser set. I suspect Nigel Calder and a few other popular writers to the sailing mags are a big reason.
Just FYI if some of you have not been following it.
BTW - since I
sold my
boat I didn't get a lot of
history on them but had no reason to believe they weren't going to be great performers. I paired them up with a REC BMS with large contactors in a 4P4S configuration for 400Ah at 12v.
BTW - thanks to all who helped me along the way and thanks to all the others who have posted so much helpful (and a lot of questionable but well meaning) info on CF. I know I was in the latter category a lot, if not most, of the time.
